The company was founded in 1947 (Showa 22), shortly after the war. Kiyoshi Yamashita, known as a wandering genius painter, visited in 1956 and was impressed by the size and taste of the tonkatsu, saying, ``It's like a field marshal!'' There is an anecdote that he drew a picture of a pig on the spot. This is where the origin of our specialty, ``Giant Marshal Tonkatsu'' comes from. The Nankodai store was founded in 1978 (Showa 53). Omachi's pork cutlets are made with brand-name pork from Miyagi Prefecture (JAPAN X/Shibahime Pork). The pork cutlet, which is made with particular attention to lard and breadcrumbs, continues to be loved by generations.
