Mount Fuji Hongu Sengen Shrine

Komakado Wind Cave

Komakado Kazaana, one of the lava caves around Mt. Fuji, was created by the eruption of Shin-Fuji 10,000 years ago. The main cave is 291m long and splits into two at some point, allowing you to enter about 110m further inside. You can see countless lava stalactites and lava flow traces hanging from the ceiling, and you can drink the underground water from Mt. Fuji that springs up near the entrance to Komakado Kazaana.

Shiraito Falls

Shiraito Falls, designated a national scenic spot and natural monument in 1936, is said to have flowed down from near the summit about 10,000 years ago, formed when magma cooled rapidly, and gushed forth over a long period of time, about 10 to 15 years. The meltwater from Mt. Fuji springs from the cliff face, which is about 20m high and 120m long. During the autumn foliage season, the harmony between the waterfall and the autumn leaves is a spectacular sight.

Lake Tanuki

Lake Tanuki in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture is a lake located at an altitude of 650m on the Asagiri Plateau. It was discovered by charcoal burner Fujijiro and was called Chojagaike Pond, but it is said to have become the current Lake Tanuki in 1949.

Located near Mt. Fuji, you can see fantastic views such as Diamond Fuji and upside-down Fuji, and it is also a good photo spot. Activities such as boating, cycling, and fishing are also available.

Tagonoura Port

Fujikawaraku Roadside Station

Fujikawa Rakuza, which can be accessed from both the northbound Tomei Expressway and from the general road, has restaurants serving eel, sushi, soba, and other dishes, as well as souvenir shops. There is also a full range of other attractions, including an observation deck from which you can view Mt. Fuji, an experience center where you can play with science, a planetarium, and a Ferris wheel from which you can see the area around Mt. Fuji from above.

Numazu Port

This market opened in 2007. You can watch the auction from the observation corridor on the second floor. There are also restaurants on the second floor where you can dine while looking out at Suruga Bay, including the seafood restaurant "Numazu Fish Market Restaurant," the conveyor belt sushi restaurant "Sushi Kaisen Uotei," and Hawaiian cuisine restaurant "Tony's Honolulu." At "Numazu Fish Market Restaurant," you can enjoy freshly caught sashimi, purchased at the auction every morning. The fresh sashimi is very delicious.

Numazu Hie Shrine

Founded in 1096, this shrine has a history of over 900 years, dating back to the Heian period. The shrine grounds are home to a 450-year-old sacred tree, which is a spectacular sight. The sacred cow is a statue of a cow, and it is said that if you stroke the parts of the body you want to improve, your wishes will come true. In spring, it is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, and the cherry blossoms are lit up at night, making for a beautiful sight.
